There may have been some sad faces at Dublin airport last week as emigrants left Ireland after the Christmas break, but one person who’ll be more than happy to fly away this year will be the winner of a 365-day round-the-world trip.
Starting in Havana, Cuba – home of Havana Club rum, which is organising the competition – one lucky person will spend 12 months enjoying 12 very different experiences around the world, in countries including Japan, Canada, Germany, Australia, Brazil and Argentina. Along the way, they’ll try a variety of adventures, from mojito-making in Havana to living and travelling with a Toronto jazz band; they’ll experience Paris in springtime while working at Shakespeare and Company bookstore and take the Trans-Siberian Express to China, crossing Russia and Mongolia.
All travel, accommodation and expenses are covered along the way. To be in with a chance of winning you must make a short video detailing the three things you’d take with you on the trip and the three things you’d leave behind.
The Irish winner will take part in the grand final in Havana in April, with the 365-day trip starting in July. To enter, and for more details, see facebook.com/havanaclubireland.
