THE SOCIAL NETWORK:Newly-weds Andy McGeady and Rebecca Halliday added a touch of glamour to the launch of the Oyster Festival at the Cliff Town House in Dublin on Wednesday evening.

The couple had just got married at Curtlestown, in Enniskerry, and were having a celebratory dinner at the restaurant on St Stephen’s Green, when they popped upstairs to the festival launch. McGeady, an IT consultant, told me he and Halliday, an oboeist, are having a large party for friends and extended family in southern France on September 15th.

The author Marisa Mackle said her 20th book is coming out next month. The Secret Nanny Club is a bit of a roman à clef for Mackle. She was a nanny years ago, and now she hires them for her son, Gary.

Actor turned author Biddy White-Lennon told me she will be featuring in The Great Irish Bake-Off, on TV3 next year. She is also proofing her new book, Wild Food.
