DUBLIN: Southbound lane of Dundrum bypass closed to all southbound traffic from just past the junction of the bypass and Sandyford road, and Dundrum Bypass roundabout on Wyckham way. Traffic from the M50/ Wyckham way to Dundrum unaffected. Traffic to Dundrum village and shopping centre unaffected.

Races at Leopardstown on January 9th, 12.50 p.m. and 4 p.m. The course is six miles south of Dublin city centre, off the N11. Car parking is free, allow ample time for the journey on race days.

KILDARE: Works at Johnstown and Kill. Traffic management for N7 road widening and interchange scheme.

MEATH: Races at Navan on January 8th, between 12.55 p.m. and 3.55 p.m. The course is two miles outside Navan on Kingscourt Road (R162), just off the N3 from Dublin and N51 from Drogheda. Expect delays.

LOUTH: The old Dundalk-Ardee Rd (N52) closed for construction of Dundalk Western bypass, 1.25km southwest of junction with Knockbridge Rd in townland of Carnanbregagh. Local access will be maintained. Heynestown Rd (CR165) in townlands of Gibstown and Killally for 1km from junction with Old Ardee Rd and N1 Southern link Rd. Alternative route to Dundalk is N52, N1 Southern Link Rd to Carrolls Junction, Dublin Rd, Hill St, Dundalk.

LIMERICK: New taxi rank on O'Connell St until Sunday 9th January, 2005.

TIPPERARY: Races at Thurles racecourse tomorrow between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. The course is five miles west of main Dublin to Cork Road (N8), one mile west of Thurles. Expect delays.

WATERFORD: Works on Maypark Lane. Delays expected.

Green Rd is permanently closed from junction at The Six Cross Roads to junction at Ballycasin Hill, Ballybeg Drive. An alternative route is now in operation.

KERRY: Roadworks on N21 between Tralee and Ballycarty, between Ratass east of Tralee and Ballycarty Roundabout where the N21 & N22 converge.

CORK: Christy Ring Bridge closed southbound from junction with Camden Quay today and tomorrow night from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. for works for the City of Culture.

St Patrick's Bridge closed from 3 a.m. on Friday January 7th to midnight on Saturday. St Patrick's Street closed northbound from Daunt's Square from 10 a.m. Friday Janunary 7th to midnight on Saturday. Christy Ring Bridge closed southbound from 8 p.m. on Friday night, January 7th, to 4 a.m. on Saturday morning.

The following streets will be closed from noon to 7 p.m. for the opening ceremony for the Cork 2005 European Capital of Culture: St Patrick's St, St Patrick's Quay, Brian Boru Bridge, Penrose Quay, Parnell Place, O'Connell St, Anderson's Quay, Tuckey St, Paul St, Bridge St, Half Moon St, Lavitt's Quay, North Link Road between Leitrim St and Camden Quay, Devonshire St, St Augustine's St, Washington St, South Mall, Fr Matthew St, Union Quay, Eglantine St, McSweeney Quay, and Roman St.
