Routes to avoid around the country during the week ahead
DUBLIN: Temporary lights and roadworks in Tallaght on the Greenhills Rd between Airton Rd and Old Tallaght. Single lane restrictions and temporary lights in place all day from Monday to Saturday until October. Expect delays on Greenhills Rd from the Airton Rd junction to the Old Tallaght Rd. Diversions in place. When the works are completed, the Greenhills Rd will be extended to meet the junction of the Tallaght Bypass.
Nangor Rd roadworks, 500 metres on the Clondalkin side of Pollyhops Pub - delays from Lucan and Newcastle. Temporary traffic lights. Works from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday until the end of June. Diversions via Newcastle.
Cycle races in the Phoenix Park between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: June 10th, July 1st, July 15th, July 22nd and August 19th. The following roads will be closed to traffic: The Main Road (between Phoenix Junction and Mountjoy Cross), and Survey Road (between its junction with the Main Road and its junction with the Furze, Upper Glen and Knockmaroon roads). Traffic diverted or halted at Phoenix Junction, Mountjoy Junction and the junction of Survey Rd, Upper Glen Rd, Furze Rd and Knockmaroon Rd.
KILDARE: Doctor's Lane in Maynooth has access from the Dublin side for building work till June 11th. Construction of the Kildare bypass on the N7 means no left turn from Kildare to Monestervin at Cherryville crossroads. Take next left - the Athy left at Monesterevin.
The road between Ballymore Eustace and Brannockstown is closed at Ardinore, traffic has to divert. Ongoing closure.
LIMERICK: Works on the Dooradoyle Rd in Limerick between the two roundabouts at the Crescent Shopping Centre. Works between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. until mid-November. In mid-June, single lane traffic with works from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Works on Rosbrien Rd in Limerick, expect delays.
LONGFORD: Works on the N63 (main road between Longford Town and Roscommon Town) at Lanesborough, temporary traffic lights, expect delays.
TIPPERARY: Friar St closed in Thurles till August 8th.
Works have been postponed on the N52 between Borrisokane and Ballingarry but will resume soon - no date confirmed yet.
CARLOW: In Co Carlow, works until September at the junction of the N9/Hanover Junction, Barrack St/ Kennedy Avenue.
Works in place at Paupish Lane and Angler's Walk junction and alongside New Oak Estate to Staplestown Rd.
CORK: Sullivans Quay - single lane traffic. Footpath along the riverside is closed for the work.
Road connecting Forge Corner to Duggan's crossroads closed till Friday.
RAILWAYS: Re-signalling on the Galway-Dublin line till Sunday. Bus transfers between Galway and Athlone - times for bus transfers advanced by 20 minutes. Details at all stations, www.irishrail.ie or 1850 366222.
