Routes to avoid around the country over the next week

DUBLIN: Until 10 p.m. Friday, the junction of the Belgard Road & Embankment Road in Tallaght will be partially closed.Traffic will have to divert via Cookstown Estate Road, the Old Belgard Road, Cookstown Road.

There will be no through traffic on the Belgard Road through the junction or on Embankment Road on January 24th to 27th, January 31st to February 3rd, February 7th to 10th, and February 14th to 17th.

Local traffic along the Belgard Road can divert via Cookstown Estate Road, Old Belgard Road, Cookstown Road to the Belgard Road. Traffic going to the M50 should go via the Naas Road (N7) or the Tallaght Bypass (N81)

Ellis Quay will be closed to Queen Street until 6 a.m. on Friday, January 17th for resurfacing works for the Blackhall Place Bridge.

Traffic will be diverted via Ellis street, Benburb Street, Blackhall Place, Hendrick Street and Queen Street. Pedestrian access will be via Mellows Bridge, Ushers Island and Rory O'Moore Bridge.

Both Dunville Avenue and Beechwood Road in Ranelagh are closed for the next two weeks for roadworks. Pedestrian access only and this has been causing delays at peak times as these are back roads to Rathhmines.

In Balbriggan, George's Hill & Station Street are closed until February 25th.

Alternative route to part of George's Hill and part of Station Rd for vehicular and pedestrian traffic via Mill Street, Drogheda Street, Railway Street and Station Road.

LIMERICK: Canal Bridge Road between Hymies Boreen and the Canal Bridge is closed to traffic until March 1st, 2003.

MEATH: Roadworks in Dunshaughlin until further notice. Races in Punchestown on Saturday. Bus Éireann is running a special bus service from Dublin to the Punchestown Races. Tickets are €12 return and must be booked in advance at Busaras or the Bus Éireann ticket desk in the Bus Átha Cliath office at 59 Upper O'Connell Street.

On Sunday, January 19th races at Fairyhouse, north-west of Dublin near Ratoath. It is about a half an hour drive from Dublin airport and the city centre. It is accessible via the Westlink Motorway (M50), the Blanchardstown by-pass on the N3 and the Dublin/Belfast Road on the N2. Bus Éireann is running a special bus to Fairyhouse from Dublin as well.

WATERFORD: New roundabout on Paddy Brownes Road. The Kilbarry Road between the Yellow House and the City Dump is closed until further notice. New traffic arrangement on Gratton Quay and Bridge Street.

All traffic from Gratton Quay heading for Bridge Street or in the direction of the Clock Tower must turn left at the bridge and proceed across the bridge, rounding the roundabout at the train station and back across the bridge.There will be no right turn from Bridge Street onto the Quay.

DONEGAL: Part of Pearse Road now one way in Letterkenny. This is a very busy road, expect delays.
