Dani Pedrosa took Sunday's MotoGP in Jerez, his home circuit, with a flawless race in which he led from the first turn.
Meanwhile reigning world champion Casey Stoner finished a lowly 11th position after two separate excursions into the gravel at the hairpin bend at the end of a 300km/h back straight. Stoner later blamed the bike's set up for being 20 seconds off the pace.
Schumacher's at it again
Ex-Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher has been out racing again, reportedly his third race in a week. This time he took part in the Italian KTM Trophy race aboard a KTM Superduke, coming home in fourth place - only a few seconds off the winning pace. He also set a second- fastest lap time after starting from the back of the grid.
Maddison breaks record
Australian daredevil Robbie Maddison has smashed the bike jump record at the Crusty Demons Night of World Records in Melbourne. He cleared 107m on his Honda CR500, an increase of almost 10m over the current record set by stunt rider Ryan Capes. Other records included the longest ramp to ramp jump including a backflip by Cameron Sinclair, 39.5m.
