For men: the woman handbook

Men are being given extra help understanding the opposite sex with a car manual-style guide to women

Men are being given extra help understanding the opposite sex with a car manual-style guide to women. Woman: The Haynes Practical Guide to Women's Health for Men takes a tongue-in-cheek look at "women's matters" in a way men will understand - using motoring jargon to take them under the female bonnet.

The experts behind the guide say there was also a serious message - they wanted to tackle men's ignorance of not only their own health, but that of the women in their lives.

The manual, which follows others called Man, Baby, Sex and Cancer, was written by Dr Ian Banks, president of the European Men's Health Forum. It follows the traditional Haynes formula, using fault-finding charts, technical illustrations and chapter headings such as Fuel and Exhaust.
