HARD SHOULDER:AUDI IS on the brink of a major marketing offensive that will see prices for all models fall by an average of 10 per cent, while specification levels are likely to increase. Features such as air-conditioning and ESP are likely to feature as standard on entry models.
The price drop, supposedly pencilled in for October 1st, follows the introduction of its limited edition range last March.
Recognising the problems being faced by the Irish motor industry this year, the Limited Edition range introduced lower specification versions of its main models such as the A3, A4 and A6. It’s expected the Limited Edition range will continue for the foreseeable future alongside the proposed drop in prices for the rest of the range.
Audi has toppled BMW as the best selling premium brand this year, securing a market share of 4.2 per cent market share compared to its rivals 2.3 per cent.
