Aprilia has unveiled its new RSV 4 that will go on sale in road-going form in late 2008. The racing version will compete in the World Superbike Championship in 2009.
Its new four-stroke, 1000cc V4 engine will produce in excess of 200bhp.
Fifty years of TT for Ducati
Ducati UK will celebrate 50 years of TT involvement with a week-long exhibition of historic bikes including: the first Ducati to compete in the TT, the 125cc Desmo; Mike Hailwood's 1978 bike; Carl Fogarty's 1994 WSBK Championship winning 916 and Neil Hodgson's 2003 WSBK Championship winning 999. A special parade lap will take place on June 6th.
HANN spree kicks off
The 2008 HANNspree World Superbike Championship began in Qatar with Troy Bayliss notching up the Ducati 1098's maiden victory, battling Max Biaggi (Sterilgarda Go Eleven Ducati) to the flag.
Irishman Jonathan Rea had a terrible start, high-siding his Ten Kate Honda on the second lap and taking out his team-mate Andrew Pitt in the process.
