AN BORD Pleanála has set July 23rd as the date for an oral hearing for a proposed €600m mixed-use development on the former UCD Veterinary College site on Shelbourne Road, D4.

Developer Ray Grehan is looking to build 109 residential units, offices, retail, café, cultural space and a 15-storey residential tower. Grehan, managing director of Glenkerrin, paid €171.5 million for the 2.2-acre site in 2005. Around 22 parties - mostly local residents groups - submitted appeals to An Bord Pleanála.

It is believed an oral hearing is also on the cards for developer Seán Dunne's proposal to redevelop the Jurys/Berkeley Court site although a date has not been set yet.
