Mixed-use scheme with 77 homes for Dun Laoghaire: The Old Schoolhouse and Number 3 Eblana Avenue, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin is to be demolished to make way for a mixed-use development.
Montana properties - whose directors are David Hicks, John Queally, Peter Queally, Kevin Hegarty and Patrick O'Brien - were granted permission by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for the three to seven-storey development with a central square, 77 apartments, offices, retail space, a private club with a snooker room, function room and 123 car-parking spaces.
The Old Schoolhouse is currently in use as a hostel and number 3 Eblana avenue is a private members club.
Redevelopment of Blooms Hotel in Dublin 2 gets green light
The owner of Blooms Hotel, Martin Keane, has been granted planning permission by Dublin City Council to demolish it and rebuild it as an hotel and entertainment complex. The demolition will also include the VAT House pub and Club M at 3-6 Anglesea Street and 16 Cope Street.
This will involve the partial demolition of 3 Anglesea Street, a protected structure, to retain its front façade, and the demolition of the remaining buildings to basement level.
The new nine-storey hotel will have 152 bedrooms, a restaurant, rooftop bar, landscaped terrace, conference facilities, a gym, nightclub, executive lounge, library, and health and beauty spa.
Refurbishment planned for two lodges in Phoenix Park
The Commissioners for Public Works is looking to refurbish and conserve two lodges in the Phoenix Park.
Buggey's Lodge at Black Gate, North Road, Phoenix Park was built 200 years ago and is beside the back entrance to Áras an Uachtaráin. It is a detached single storey house with a pedestrian access gate, a front yard, garden and outhouses.
Bessboro Lodge West in the park is a semi-detached single storey lodge with front and side garden and rear yard.
The proposal is for the repair and refurbishment of the building fabric of the lodge and outhouses, the insertion of a bathroom, shower room and fitted kitchen.
