330 homes for Santry siteTerry Devey's Heritage Properties is seeking to build 330 residential units on the site of a former engineering buildings in Santry, Dublin 9.

If given approval, the developers plan to knock the engineering works buildings in a 1.9-hectare site and build a mix of apartments and duplexes in six residential blocks varying in height from three to seven storeys. The site on Shanowen Road is bounded by St Kevin's Boys Club and Shanowen Business Park.

Green light for 386 homes in D17

Albany Homes has been given the go-ahead for 386 residential units off the Malahide Road in Dublin 17 by An Bord Pleanála. The scheme, which was given approval by Dublin City Council last May, will comprise three buildings ranging from three to six storeys in height.

The planning board decided to go against a recommendation from one of its inspectors to refuse permission on the grounds of density and design and gave the green light for the development. The 2.7-acre site is bounded by the new Tesco hyper market now under construction, Grove Lane and Clare Hall residential area.

198 homes planned for Rathcoole

Builder J P Molloy is seeking to build 198 residential units on a site at Stoney Road, Rathcoole, Co Dublin. Earlier this year the developer's plan to build 174 two and three-bed townhouses was rejected by South Dublin County Council due to the quality of design and layout.

This time, J P Molloy is seeking to build 21 mixed unit blocks on the site. The development will also involve the construction of a 60-place childcare facility.

New homes for Tallaght/D14

An application seeking to build over 200 apartments at Tallaght has been lodged with South Dublin County Council. The Wood Partnership is seeking to build 223 apartments in a 6.5-storey building on a site at the junction of the Belgard Road and Blessington Road in Dublin 24.

Meanwhile, two Galway developers are seeking to build 91 residential units at Ballyboden Rd, D14 on the grounds of Bolton Hall, a protected structure. Michael Burke and John Staunton have applied to build 10 blocks from two to five-storeys at 163 Ballyboden Road. Bolton Hall will be renovated to provide a five-bed house.
