11-storey block for D2: A mixed-use scheme with an 11-storey block is proposed for the OPW site at Lad Lane, D2. Clondean Ltd, with Mark Sloan, Christopher Jones and Francis Rhatigan as directors, has applied to the council for 134 homes, gym and two offices in five linked blocks on the 0.39-hectare site bounded by Wilton Place, Lad Lane and Pembroke Rd. It includes 158 basement car-parking spaces.

Last March, Mr Rhatigan's and Mr Jones' Ellier Developments bought the site for €22.5m. The scheme is of a four, five and six-storey block to Lad Lane; a five and six-storey block to Pembroke Row and a second to Lad Lane; a four-storey block adjoining the Wilton Place apartment complex; and an 11-storey block in the site's southern corner at Wilton Place.

56 homes for Dundrum: An Bord Pleanála has given the go-ahead for 56 homes at the former Taney Nurseries site in Dundrum which involves the demolition of a house, outbuildings and greenhouses on Taney Road. There were 11 objections, mainly on grounds of density, scale, height and overshadowing. The plan is for four two-bed bungalows, 16 two-bed and eight four-bed houses, and six one-bed and 22 two-bed apartments. Fifty basement and 42 surface car-parking spaces are included.

20 apartments for Blackrock: The owners of Fey Yerra, the Blackrock five-bed house which sold for over €2.54 million in 2001, are seeking to demolish the house and build 20 apartments. Strandsend Ltd, whose directors are Brian Durkan, Anthony Durkan and Geraldine Carter, want to build seven three-bed duplexes and 13 two-bed apartments on the site.
