THE PRINCIPAL of the renowned Parnham furniture college will be helping to run a workshop at the Joseph Walsh studio near Kinsale in Cork.
The four-day training course, followed by a day-long symposium on design and trends, is aimed at furniture makers and others in the design world inclu-ding architects.The more people understand about how things are made the better designers they become, he says. “The intention os the programme is to create a greater synergy between designers, architects and makers,” he says.
“When a designer develops an understanding of a material, they can go on to explore its potential sympathetic to its properties.”
The course runs from July 20-24th and costs €750, or €200 a day, with lunch included.
