A successful roadhouse, the County Club near Dunshaughlin, Co Meath, is to be auctioned on June 21st. John Ryan of Gunne Commercial is offering a price guide of £3.5 to £4 million for the bar, restaurant and nightclub which has been run by the Peters family for 22 years. It is a favourite stop on the busy Dublin-Navan road, less than two miles from the growing town of Dunshaughlin. The County Club operates a busy restaurant and bar as well as the Vortex night club which holds about 500 patrons. The purpose-built premises covers an area of 15,700 sq ft and stands on a site of 3.75 acres which is laid out as a car park. Mr Ryan says the County Club is probably the best-known licensed premises to come on the market this year. The sale coincides with the announcement of plans to build an alternative route between Dublin and Navan over the next six years.
