TREASURY Holdings secured approval last week not only for the proposed Hilton Hotel in the city centre but also for a 31-bedroom hotel at Northumberland Road, Dublin 4. The smaller development will involve converting St Stephen's School into a 30-bedroom hotel. The former school building was acquired from the Representative Church Body. It is one of the few remaining public buildings in Dublin designed by Woodward.

Also in Dublin 4, Gerard Doody has been refused planning permission by Dublin Corporation to provide 21 bedrooms for a bed and breakfast business at the rear of 100 Merrion Road.

In the north inner city, Dunloe House has secured planning consent to provide 96 apartments in three blocks at North Anne Street, Cuckoo Lane and Beresford Street, Dublin 7. The old distillery on the site is also being converted into apartments.
