Dublin city planners have cleared the way for the former St Anne's Hospital, at Northbrook Road, Dublin 6, to be redeveloped for 22 apartments and duplex units, as well as offices. The development is to be carried out by Michael Cotter's company, Park Developments, which bought the hospital last year for just over £4 million. The main building, Number 6, is to be used as offices, along with a 25,000 sq ft extension. Four adjoining houses are to be converted into eight two-bedroom duplex units and an existing link building is to be rebuilt to accommodate two further two-bedroom duplex homes.
The planners have also given notice of their intention to grant permission for a new apartment block at the rear to include six one-bed and six two-bedroom apartments. An underground car-park with 48 spaces is to be provided along with a landscaped garden once the existing chapel, mortuary buildings and other associated buildings are demolished.
