Sludge colour chosen eight years ago is bang on trend now

THE COLOUR palette this season is muted with lots of earthy green, reds and browns

THE COLOUR palette this season is muted with lots of earthy green, reds and browns. The kitchen of 94 Iona Road is a gorgeous, sludge green colour that, while eight years old, has stood the test of time. The owner, graphic designer and CEO of Dynamo Design, Jamie Helly, picked the colour.

This kitchen is by Dada, an Italian company whose Irish supplier has since gone out of business. Mobalpa Kitchens (01-403 2910) in Ballymount has a new range of finishes that includes Veronese Green, which is similar in shade to that pictured. It comes in a wide range of finishes from satin laminate finish to high gloss lacquer. A kitchen will cost between €10,000-€15,000 ex-appliances and stone worktops. Another option to entertain is the Orange range by Snaidero, available at The Italian Design Studio (01-679 4000). The colour is Graphite Grey and comes in a high gloss lacquer.

Elsewhere, the diningroom has a dining table and chairs by New York-based furniture designer John Kelly. The Pennsylvania architect student echoes Frank Lloyd Wright, Gustav Stickler and Le Corbusier in his designs. These are available from Jack McGinn in Omagh, 048-8224 2180.

The JK-09 table is €1,400 with an optional extension, price €337. The JK-01 Spindle chairs are €392 each.
