HADDINGTON ROADTHE HOLY FAITH order is to develop an upmarket residential scheme on the site of its 100-year-old secondary school on Haddington Road, Dublin.

The school, shut last year due to falling numbers, is to be demolished to make way for 11 four-bed terraced houses and two apartments. The scheme by OMS Architects will be in two three-storey blocks on Haddington Road and Haddington Place.

Two four-bedroom houses on St Mary's Road (nos 4 and 6), which have also been used by the order, will be converted from convent use into four-bedroom family homes. A 410sq m (4,413sq ft) landscaped local park along Haddington Place also forms part of the plans submitted to the council.

The scheme incorporates plans for the partial demolition of a convent building on St Mary's Road to make way for the construction of a new 11-bedroom convent.
