Shannon Homes has had a good week, selling out its latest apartment scheme and securing planning permission for another major development in Drumcondra, Dublin 9. The company found buyers for 36 apartments and penthouses worth £12 million when it opened show apartments last weekend at Seamount, beside St Helen's Radisson Hotel, at Mount Merrion, Co Dublin. The disposal of the latest batch of properties brought the overall sales revenue up to £40 million for the 140 apartments, which were sold through agents Hooke & MacDonald.
Prices for the final phase were between £155,000 and £169,000 for one-bedroom apartments, and from £220,000 to £245,000 for two-bedroom units. The three-bedroom apartments made from £260,000 to £290,000. The agents also took bookings for three and four-bedroom penthouses, which made from £375,000 to £675,000.
The final penthouse for sale is a three-bedroom unit with an extensive sun balcony and a price tag of £575,000. The Drumcondra development will be concentrated on the grounds of a convent at Dargle Road and will include 86 apartments, 24 houses and 16 duplex units. There is also planning to convert an existing convent into 29 apartments, though a chapel will have to be kept in religious use.
