WHERE’S the most expensive place to buy a house in Dublin? It’s Sandymount, according to Daft. This week the website published its top 10 most expensive areas based on all the properties posted for sale since the start of 2006.
Dalkey/Sandycove came in at second place, Ranelagh at number 3, and Ballsbridge, surprisingly, in fourth place. Rathgar is in fifth place. The bottom five of the “top 10” league were: Dublin 4 in sixth place, Foxrock in seventh, Dublin mountains, eight, Howth – the only northside suburb – at number nine and Booterstown/Mount Merrion, number 10.
It’s worth remembering, of course, that the league, like all property information currently publicly available, is based on asking prices.
