Sallins housing site expected to make £2.5m

A 33.5-acre housing site at Sallins, near Naas, Co Kildare, is expected to make about £2

A 33.5-acre housing site at Sallins, near Naas, Co Kildare, is expected to make about £2.5 million when it is sold by tender through Naas estate agents Neylon and Co. The land is likely to be of interest to a considerable number of housebuilders because of the intense scarcity of sites within commuting distance of the city. The Sallins site is within a few minutes' walking distance of the railway station, which forms part of Irish Rail's arrow commuter service.

Although the Sallins site has full planning permission for 192 houses, Michael Neylon of the selling agents says under a new development plan recently introduced, the housing density could possibly be increased to eight units per acre - equating to 250 houses - if revised planning permission is sought. He said all main services were already on the site. Tenders close on October 3rd.
