Motor distribution company Renault has paid close to £2 million for a five-acre industrial site fronting on to the Naas dual carriageway and adjoining Citywest Business Park in west Dublin. It is thought to be the highest price paid for an industrial site in west Dublin. Similar parcels of land have been making between £250,000 and £275,000 per acre, well short of this week's figure of almost £400,000 achieved by Colm Lundy of agents James Adam.
The parcel of land includes a 17,000-square-foot warehouse, which, like the site, was owned by German chemical company Bayer.
