The new owners of Rathfarnham shopping centre in Dublin 14 are seeking planning permission to expand and refurbish only weeks after buying the complex from the Doyle Hotel Group for almost £10 million. Corporate Finance Ireland Ltd plans to provide additional shopping units and additional carparking facilities in a new semi-basement, and a rooftop carpark. The 92,000 sq ft of additional space will include more than 20,000 sq ft of retail shopping. If the planners approve of the expansion plan, the owners will obviously improve on their current rent roll of £903,000, which gives them a yield of 7.25 per cent.
