THE Sean Quinn group has been refused planning permission by Dublin Corporation to replace Tommy Wright's bar and an adjoining shop at 1/2 Burgh Quay, Dublin 2, with a four-storey public house and restaurants over a self-contained basement nightclub.

The group operates The Harp bar and nightclub at O'Connell Bridge House.

An Bord Pleanala has refused planning permission for a hotel/guesthouse development at 82/83 Merrion Square, Dublin 2.

The board has also refused permission for an 84-bedroom hotel at Tower House, Ballymun Road, Dublin 9.
