In CO Wicklow, a semi-detached castle set in two acres of grounds near Ashford has had its priced halved by selling agent McDonnell Properties from €2.5 million to €1.25 million.Though attached to another castellated house, Glanmore Castle is a large 465sq m (5,000sq ft) home in its own right with five reception rooms and four bedrooms. The late 1700s house is one of a number of homes in the Devil’s Glen Equestrian Village, about 1.5 miles from Ashford.

In Dundrum, 13 Roebuck Castle is an entirely different kind of property – a neat bay-windowed townhouse in a popular development off Roebuck Road in Dublin 14.
