The latest pedestrian counts for the Henry Street/Mary Street area of Dublin 1 shows that these retail streets are continuing to attract ever-increasing numbers. The count, which was taken between March 30th and April 5th, showed that 587,808 people over the age of 15 entered the streets during shopping hours compared to 514,420 in 1997. The Henry Street/ O'Connell Street junction handled 31 per cent of the shoppers.
