Ballymore Properties is to take bookings for a further 16 two-bedroom apartments in its latest development near Naas following last weekend's sale of all 20 units in the first phase.

Local agent Colm McEvoy recorded £3.5 million (4.92) in sales over the weekend when the show apartment opened for the first time.

Work on the site at Oak Glade Hall is well advanced and most of the homes will be ready to move into over the coming months.

Prices for the 750 sq ft apartments range from £131,950 (167,541) to £138,950 (195,502). It is a particularly low density scheme with only eight homes per block. The seven blocks under construction are located around a handsome courtyard with generous planting of shrubs and trees and lots of car-parking space.

Internally, the apartments are bright and spacious with a superb fit-out that is likely to impress.

Oak Glade Lodge is located within walking distance of the town on the Blessington Road. It appeals especially to first-time buyers, most of them commuters working in Dublin - now less than 30 miles away on the N7.

Investors too will be interested because of the high rents available and the shortage of good quality accommodation in the town for workers in local offices and the numerous high tech industries in west Dublin. The show apartment opens today and tomorrow (5 p.m. to 8p.m.) and on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
