Roll up! Roll up! . . . for the last of the Temple Bar apartments going on sale this week with reserve prices of £192,000-plus up to £550,000 for a three-bed penthouse (see page 10). The 25 apartments at Scarlet Row mark the end of Temple Bar Properties' development programme. One of its first schemes was based in the old Royal Exchange Hotel, in Parliament Street, in 1992, when it wasn't that easy to sell onebeds at £59,950 and twobeds at £75,000 - way above the going price for city centre pads at the time. Shortly afterwards, TBP launched the Green Building, an ambitious eco-friendly apartment block that drew the first queues with flats from the early £70,000s up to £125,000. The building established TBP's reputation as the city's most innovative developers, who followed with a host of award-winning schemes. With TBP now exiting from property development, the few infill sites in the area will have to be developed by private investors, who are likely to opt for profit margin rather than ground-breaking design.
