If you missed the chance to buy into south Dublin's most expensive estate, Cosgraves' Ardilea Wood in Clonskeagh, don't despair. Nine of the opulent residences in this enclave, accessed via Versailles-style entrance gates, were sold by sealed bid, fetching prices of between £625,000 and £1.6 million, but now the showhouse is available at £1.4 million. Bumf from selling agent Hooke & MacDonald describes the 3,500 sq ft five-bedroom detached showhouse off Roebuck Road as "palatial". It has no less than four bathrooms (two of which come with Jacuzzis), three reception rooms, a home office, utility room and sun room and a recreational suite. The extras include carpets, curtains and light-fittings, patio furniture and a gas barbecue - not to mention a kitchen with enough equipment to feed a party.
Viewing, naturally, is strictly by appointment.
