The houses are built on a one-acre site that was once part of the the garden of 1 Castle Avenue. The scheme is for sale through Macarthy Auctioneers who are asking €2.95 million for the homes.

The same auctioneer is also selling the original refurbished house, which sits on around half an acre of walled mature gardens. This house costs €5 million.

Castle Avenue has a good Dublin 14 location on a quiet end of Churchtown Road, near Rathgar, Miltown and Dundrum. Miltown Golf Course and the Luas at Windy Arbour are also near by. All houses have views over the 16th hole of Castle Golf Course, from the first floor.

Selling agent Cathal Macarthy says the houses will appeal to those looking to trade down to a modern maintenance-free home from larger houses in the area.

The decor of the showhouse is firmly pitched at this market with period-style fireplaces, velvet drapes and formal period colours. The three other houses are now nearing completion so buyers could put their own stamp on decor.
