The chef’s dining room at London-based Mews of Mayfair (0044 20 7518 9388 mewsofmayfair.com), features a print of an original map of the British Empire, designed to chime with the eaterie’s “quintessentially British theme”. It took a number of prototypes to fit the map to the double height vaulted room and the map is replicated a couple of times in the room. What a way to armchair travel.
