Dublin housebuilder Jackson Properties has paid £1.92 million at auction for a residential site at the junction of Grattan Street and Grattan Court East, close to Merrion Square, Dublin 2. DTZ Sherry FitzGerald originally quoted over £1 million for the 6,800 sq ft site, which has full planning permission for two different developments - one of them a scheme of 12 apartments with 2,740 sq ft at street level and the other 16 apartments with a basement car-park. A housebuilder was also the successful bidder at an Agar auction when a one-acre site at Redford, on the outskirts of Greystones, Co Wicklow, made £645,000. Though there is no planning permission, the draft development plan would allow nine houses to an acre.
