IN Dublin's Smithfield area Heritage Properties is planning to build a hotel. Heritage, which is redeveloping the former Jameson Distillery mainly as an apartment complex, has sought permission to develop a 77-bedroom hotel on part of the site, which was to have been used for 18 apartments, offices and part of an arts centre.
Meanwhile, the former Kelso Laundry premises at Lower Rathmines Road, Dublin 6, is to be redeveloped by Newridge Developments. A planning application has been lodged seeking permission to demolish the existing buildings and to replace them with two 4/5 storey blocks with 37 apartments and four retail units on to Rathmines Road and Military Road. There will also be 40 on-site car-parking spaces.
In the city centre, Harry Crosbie has sought permission for a mixed development to include a licensed premises with 14 apartments, two retail units and a workshop at 57/60 Thomas Street.
