ONLY two months after going on the market, the newly developed Blackrock Park House office block in Blackrock, Co Dublin, has been leased to AIG Europe, a computer software operation recently set up by AIG, formerly known as the American Insurance Company of Ireland.

The new tenants will be paying a rent of £13.75 per square foot for the 17,000-square-foot building, which was developed by Bank of Ireland Asset Management and Canada Life. AIG will also be paying £600 for each of the 29 car-parking spaces. The 20-year lease provides for a break option in the 10th year. AIG Europe will initially employ 47 people.

Willie Dowling of Palmer McCormack, who handled the letting, said the quick response to the marketing campaign underlined the pick-up in the office letting market. Sherry FitzGerald was the joint letting agent and Roland O'Connell of Hamilton Osborne King represented AIG Europe.
