A & L Goodbody solicitors is seeking key money of £300,000 for the assignment of the lease of part of its office accommodation at the Earlsfort Centre, in Dublin 2. The company has already agreed to accept around £200,000 for its lease of Block B, a 21,800 sq ft building which it has been occupying since 1991. The adjoining block C has 30,015 sq ft, which is held on a 35-year lease from 1986 at a current rent of £443,000 - the equivalent of £14 per sq ft. This rent could go close to £25 per sq ft when the next review takes place. Both blocks are owned by Canada Life, which is shortly to decide whether to give consent for the assignment of the lease of Block B to a professional firm. Goodbody is to relocate to a newly developed block in the International Financial Services Centre. Palmer McCormack and Lisney are joint letting agents.
