PEOPLE WHO bought into the Gasworks scheme weren't the only residents who had to take flight when it was decided not to use the building for apartments.

Word has reached us via bush telegraph that a falcon living on top of the Gasworks was also persuaded to leave home.

A bijou bird house was erected on the roof of the Central Bank building, with a decor so attractive as to entice the bird over from D4 to set up nest in one of Ireland's most famous architectural landmarks, by Sam Stephenson.

While the bird is happily roosting on the roof it has also found that the building's ledges make great picnic spots, allowing the mighty bird digest the remains of pigeons under the gaze of staff who can watch it all through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
