Construction work has begun on an office and apartment scheme overlooking Galway docks. Granelt Properties and Thomas McDonagh & Sons are handling the development which will have 71,720 sq ft of office space and 17 apartments.

The waterfront site was previously occupied by warehouses and has frontage on to Dock Road and Merchants Road. The offices are being built around a landscaped courtyard and will be capable of being let in its entirety or on a floor by floor basis.

DTZ Sherry FitzGerald will be letting or selling the building on the same basis. Rents are being quoted at £16 (€20.32) per sq ft while the selling price will be £235 (€298.39) per sq ft.

O'Donnellan & Joyce will be handling the sale of the two, three and four-bedroom apartments when they go on the market in about three months.
