Monday(September 19th) de Veres auction of contents of Willowbank, Monkstown, Co Dublin. 90 per cent sold for a total of €210,000. A chandelier €9,500 (€2,000-€4,000); a Meissen piece, dated 1740, €5,500 (€2,000-€3,000); a mahogany Regency dining table €5,500 (€6,000-€9,000).
Tuesday(September 20th) Sotheby's, London. A mirrored dining table owned by Sir Sir Henry "Chips" Channon and his wife, the heiress Honor Guinness, in 1930's London sold for 10 times its estimate. £75,650 (€86,610), estimate £5,000-£7,000.
Wednesday(September 21st) Sotheby's, London. Four-day auction of The Philatelic Collection of Lord Steinberg of Belfast concluded, bringing a total of £2.6 million (€3 million)
