One of the biggest and best known pubs in Cork city, Clancy's, is to go under the hammer on Wednesday next, October 24th. Clancy's has a guide price of over £4 million (€5.08).The pub has a strong food trade which accounted for one-third of the turnover of £2.2 million (€2.79m). The 4,000 sq ft on the ground floor fronts on to city centre streets Princes Street and Marlboro street. There is a public dance licence which would allow for the opening of a night club. John Younge is to auction the business in Dublin's Shelbourne Hotel.
