A site for up to 60 apartments in the Dublin docklands is expected to make over £2 million when it is sold by tender next month through Hooke and MacDonald's development land department. The site of almost three-quarters of an acre is located directly opposite the proposed £1.2 billion Spencer Dock development zone and has 482 ft of frontage on to Sheriff Street Upper, East Road and Church Street East. There is obvious scope to rent the site while awaiting planning permission.
One of the advantages of building in the docklands is the fact that the Dublin Docklands Development Authority has the power to give fast-track planning permissions. A draft planning scheme due to be published within the next fortnight by the DDDA is expected to speed up development in the 31 hectares stretching from Spencer Dock to East Wall Road with Sheriff Street as its northern boundary.
