Colour me bold

The livingroom of 1 Park Terrace is a bright, fun, young space

The livingroom of 1 Park Terrace is a bright, fun, young space. Strong colour is a hallmark of the room and is mainly confined to the accessories, like the Murano glass lampshade bought in Retrospect (01 6726188) for around €300. The rug came from Woven Ground, a UK website (www.wovenground.com).

The bright orange TV stand was purchased on eBay as was the white coffee table; both are modern reproductions. Check out a list of stockists of 20th century furniture at www.gomod.com.

The bright blue wool rug on the sofa is from Avoca, and the cushions were plain white but dyed by the owner.

Bold colour also comes from the art work on the walls like the seascape by artist Gary Coyle (www.garycoyle.ie) over the fireplace. The lampstand is from Wexford company Lost Weekend (053 9180090) which also has a large selection of funky modern and colourful furniture and vintage pieces.
