Businessman Jim Mansfield has made such a success of Citywest on the edge of the Naas dual-carriageway in west Dublin that he has decided to do it all over again. He has just lodged a planning application for a massive leisure and business complex on the 700-acre Palmerstown Stud farm on the Dublin-Kildare border, which he bought for £10 million. The development will include an 18-hole golf course, a 318-bedroom hotel and leisure centre, a 2,300-seat conference centre and 288 residential units for golfers and tourists. The plan also includes no less than 124 detached homes, 124 apartments and a business park with almost 1.75 million sq ft of buildings.
