A partially redeveloped building next door to Hourican's bar - and also the birthplace of Oscar Wilde's mother, Jane - at Lower Leeson Street, Dublin 2, is expected to make in excess of £700,000 when it is sold by tender through Lisney on July 7th. A refurbishment programme at Number 6 was stopped for a period in order to secure planning permission for a restaurant or retail use at street level and residential facilities overhead. The purchaser will also have the use of a first-floor room over Hourican's bar which is accessed from the new building, bringing the total floor area up to 2,4932 sq. ft.

It is planned to erect a plaque to Lady Wilde on the building when it is completed.
