The 76-bedroom Holiday Inn Garden Hotel in the centre of Belfast has been sold to Granada plc for a figure believed to be around £5 million sterling. The sale was handled by Paul Collins of Hamilton Osborne King. Granada plans to re-brand the hotel as a Travelodge and to increase the number of bedrooms by converting the meeting rooms.
Travelodge also have hotels at Swords, Castleknock, Cork and Waterford. The Belfast hotel was sold by a Holiday Inn franchisee, Mr Diljit Rana of Andras House.
