DUBLIN 6W: FROM €800,000:The 2006 launch party of the development of Edwardian-style redbricks off Wainsfort Road was a champagne and strawberries affair with sales agent Hamilton Osborne King (now Savills) reporting 35 sales in the first weekend.
However, sales stalled when it turned out that many of the buyers could not sell their own homes in order to trade up.
Since then sales have been ticking over slowly at the scheme which is built on an 11-acre site that was once an Eircom training centre. It’s a prime residential location surrounded by mature and leafy roads, with several good schools within reach and Bushy Park a few roads away. Designed by Niall Brennan Associates, the College Square houses are tall, three-storey homes with an excellent standard of finish that includes natural stone floor in kitchens, dining and utility rooms, carpeting in bedrooms, landings and staircases, fully integrated appliances that include washer/ dryers in the separate utility rooms, and smart bathrooms.
While the houses are large at over 182sq m (1,959sq ft) each, the gardens are small. Sales are being handled by joint agents Savills and Bohan Property Consultants, with viewings by appointment only.
