The Art Store, a gallery which opened on Dublin's South William Street during the summer, offers a consultation service for homeowners needing advice selecting artwork for their houses, as well as advice to businesses and interior decorators.

The gallery's aim is to make art more accessible to the buyer by showing the art in surroundings that are welcoming, not intimidating. So far, it has attracted customers ranging from young couples in the thirties to older people, including newcomers to the art world.

South William Street, one of Dublin's most important Georgian thoroughfares, has become increasingly fashionable, attracting a mix of restaurants and bars as well as outlets like the Art Store.

The Art Store is the brain-child of Conor Firth, previously director of an art gallery on 57th Street in New York, who has been in the gallery business for ten years.
