DUBLIN 8 - FROM €270,000:A NEW phase of 10 apartments on the Liffey waterfront goes on sale this weekend at Ushers Quay, Dublin 8, with price cuts of around €100,000. One-bedroom apartments of 43-52sq m (460-560sq ft) will cost from €270,000, 62-80sq m (665-860sq ft) two-bedroom apartments from €320,000.

The apartments in Mellowes Quay - which cost from €350,000 when the development was launched in spring 2007 - are for sale through agent Hooke & MacDonald. Some come with tax reliefs for owner-occupiers.

The scheme, between the Civic Offices and Guinness's, takes its name from nearby Mellowes Bridge, the oldest surviving bridge across the Liffey. The Mellowes Quay development, designed by architects Gilroy McMahon, comprises 85 mainly one and two-bed apartments.
