What may well be a record premium for a Dublin restaurant - £850,000 - has been paid by a piazza operator for the former Blakes Regency restaurant at Whitehall, Dublin 9. The price includes furniture and fittings in the 240-seat restaurant, which had a turnover of £1.5 million last year. The current rent is due to be reviewed later this year. The restaurant is located in the grounds of the Regency Hotel and is a popular stopping off point for people going to and from Dublin airport. Barry Smyth of deVere White and Smyth acted for the restaurateur who is to take over the Whitehall restaurant. Meanwhile, estate agents Davin and Co are seeking a premium of £1.2 million for Blakes of Stillorgan, which had a turnover of about £2 million last year.
