Waterford city is to get another shopping complex. An Bord Pleanala has cleared the way for a 30,000 sq ft supermarket, six shops units and five service outlets, as well 400 carparking spaces along the outer ring road in Waterford. Several of the leading supermarket chains are currently in negotiations to trade out of the anchor store. The planning decision ends a six-year campaign by Noel Frisby Construction for the retail development on a nine-acre site near near Waterford Regional Hospital.
